Aberdeenshire LDP Bids

Please click on the images below to be taken to the mini site for each of our bids in Aberdeenshire. Some of the sites will contain more information than others. For each site, you will be able to download a pdf copy of the relevant Local Development Plan (LDP) bid document as a minimum.

Aberdeenshire Council have now published a proposed LDP, and carried out a 12 week consultation exercise. The next step will be to finalise the LDP and submit it to Scottish Ministers, along with unresolved objections. The plan will thereafter be considered by a Scottish Government reporter(s), either based on information submitted, informal hearings or a formal examination in public. The final adoption of the plan is expected at the start of 2012.

dunnottar castleStonehaven South is a current LDP bid in Aberdeenshire for a mixed use expansion of Stonehaven, incorporating around 1000 houses, 10ha of business land, a supermarket and other community facilities.

 

 

 

CammachmoreNewtonhill/Cammachmore is a current LDP bid in Aberdeenshire for a sensitive expansion of Newtonhill, incorporating around 300 new houses, and community facilities, as well as access improvements to the A90.

 

 

 

inverurieInverurie comprises of three separate LDP bids, seeking a long term sustainable expansion of the town as one of the primary settlements in Aberdeenshire. Delivery of major transport and education infrastructure improvements are key to this project.

 

 

 

lairhillockLairhillock offers an opportunity to create a small sustainable community around the recently constructed primary school, and existing hotel. The development would cause limited visual impact, and with appropriate landscaping and careful design could enhance the area significantly.

 

 

 

banchory business centreBanchory North LDP bid sets out Bancon's proposals for the next phases of development beyond the Hill of Banchory area, with an emphasis on community.

 

 

 

 

banchory north westBanchory North West offers the potential to develop land between the established woodland to the west, and Raemoir Road to the east, improving connectivity and minimising visual intrusion

 

 

 

allotmentsBanchory East offers a forward thinking opportunity to expand the town in a hugely sustainable manner. The scheme is intended to be an exemplar in the use of low and zero carbon technologies, issues that are key to Bancon's thinking.

 

 

 

westhillWesthill is a small scheme of around 130 houses, to the east of the settlement. Local improvements to roads infrastructure, drainage and the potential provision of playing fields and public parkland, expanding on existing facilities are planned as part of the development.

 

 

 

balmedieBalmedie is a LDP bid in Aberdeenshire that seeks to provide a sustainable mixed use expansion of the town to the west of the A90, offering primary and secondary education, employment and community facilities.

 

 

 

mintlaw treesMintlaw is a current LDP bid in Aberdeenshire, seeking a sustainable expansion of the town. The project could deliver around 850 houses a primary school, community facilities, retail and business land along with a care home and sheltered housing
