Newtonhill Homepage

Bancon have submitted a proposal for the development of 250-300 houses to the North and North West of Newtonhill. Newtonhill is somewhat limited at present by access from the A90. Junctions are not currently of a suitable standard to facilitate additional development. Part of the reason behind the development proposal is to offer a new grade separated junction to the North of the town, providing access for the development, and improving access for existing residents of Newtonhill and Cammachmore.

Since our initial Local Development Plan bid, we have been working hard on the junction improvements, and our current plan for the junction is in the process of being developed further, in consultation with Transport Scotland. We are confident that a suiable junction can be delivered to both access the site promoted, and improve access and safety for existing residents. We also consider that this could compliment the proposed new town development at Elsick, should that ultimately be included in the adopted LDP.
