Hill of Ardbeck Homepage

Bancon are promoting a site in Peterculter known as Hill of Ardbeck through the Local Development Plan process. A bid was submitted in March 2009 for the development of around 60 dwellings on the site, along with environmental improvements and the provision of formal public open space.

We have submitted a Proposal of Application Notice for the site, and are about to commence a community consultation exercise on the proposals. Please look at the Current Planning Application pages for more information on this process, and the latest plans for the site.

The site is located to the North of the town, on high ground that is contained by woodland and a large knoll. The map below shows the location of the site.

location planThe site was not favoured for development in the Main Issues Report, nor is it included in the Proposed LDP. However, Bancon continue to object to this omission, and consider the site to be an ideal opportunity to tidy up the land and create a genuine asset for the local community, along with housing.

We are currently developing our plans for the site to a more detailed stage. This has been submitted as part of our objection to the Proposed LDP, and we hope that the site can be included in the final draft of the Plan. If not, then our objections will be forwarded to Scottish Ministers, along with the Proposed Plan, for the final decision to be made.

We hope that the information contained in these pages will demonstrate that the proposed development is an excellent opportunity for the town. We also look forward to a more specific public consultation on the proposal in the near future.
